Preliminary images of SWOT-derived sea surface height and sigma0 now available also for the Lofoten Basin and Abrolhos Banks

Preliminary images of SWOT-derived sea surface height and sigma0 for the SWOT swath over the Abrolhos Banks, Brasil.

Earlier in April, SWOT Project Teams released some preliminary images of SWOT-derived sea surface height and sigma0 for the Western Mediterranean Sea, California, Cape Basin Crossover and New Caledonia crossovers. Preliminary images are now available also for the Lofoten Vortex crossover (Norwegian Sea, Lofoten Basin), and SWOT swath over the Abrolhos Banks (SWOT-Abrolhos).

The images are intended exclusively as “use at our own risk” for supporting the in situ sampling strategy of the AdAC Consortium and come with the disclaimer “These images are generated by SWOT Project teams with non-validated beta products from the SWOT KaRIn instrument in support to AdAC campaigns. The beta Level-2 products were post-processed with Level-3 multi-sensor algorithms. SWOT product quality is not final and will likely change as JPL and CNES make progress on the algorithms suite.”
